Professional Standards Authority - GCC performance review 2023/24

The BCA feeds back on the GCC’s performance annually, as requested by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care oversees regulatory bodies. As part of this role, it carries out performance reviews and this week, it published the results of the performance review of the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). The GCC scored 17 out of 18 in the review, achieving top marks in four of the five categories examined.

The BCA was approached for feedback as part of the PSA’s review, which we provided based on our experiences and those of the BCA members.

The result of the latest GCC performance review is published in a monitoring report.

Cait Allen, CEO said:

“It’s important to have a high performing regulator, as the criteria assess the standard of performance on education & training, how the register is maintained and EDI, amongst other areas. These are important topics for BCA members, who work hard to meet the requirements set by the GCC annually”.
